Terms of Use

1) Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Geolapis services—including the Geolapis Geospatial Web App (app.geolapis.com), the LapisAI mobile app, and related APIs, websites, and tools (collectively, the “Services”)—you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2) Our Services

Geolapis provides AI- and data-powered tools for geospatial analysis, documentation, learning, and productivity, including (without limitation) GeoInsight, GeoBrief, PDF export, OCR/translation, STEM solver, resume/cover-letter tools, and map-based features using Leaflet and Mapbox tiles.

The Services evolve over time; features may be added, changed, or removed.

3) Accounts & Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the age required by your local law) to use the Services.
• You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account.
• Provide accurate information and keep it updated.

4) Fair Use & Plan Limits

To ensure fair access and service quality, plan-specific usage limits apply per rolling window (e.g., daily or monthly) as shown below. We may apply reasonable automated protections against abuse. If limits are exceeded, certain actions may be blocked until the next window.

Notes: “total” counts overall non-special actions; special features (GeoInsight/GeoBrief/PDF export/Note creation) have their own caps. We may adjust reasonable-use thresholds for system health or abuse mitigation.

5) Acceptable Use

• Comply with all laws and these Terms; do not infringe others’ rights.
• No reverse engineering, scraping, rate-limit evasion, or unauthorized access.
• No illegal, harmful, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit content.
• No uploading malware or attempting to disrupt the Services.
• Respect third-party data licenses and attribution where applicable.

6) Intellectual Property & Your Content

• Geolapis content, software, branding, and documentation are owned by Geolapis LTD or its licensors.
• You retain ownership of content you upload or create. You grant Geolapis a limited license to host, process, transform, and display your content solely to provide the Services to you.
• Do not use Geolapis marks or UI assets without permission.

7) Geospatial, Weather & Accuracy Disclaimers

• Not for safety-critical use. Do not rely on the Services for navigation, emergency response, aviation, maritime, or any life/safety-critical decision.
• Map Data: Basemaps/tiles are served via Mapbox; the web map is rendered using Leaflet (which itself does not collect personal data). Map data may include contributions from OpenStreetMap and other sources and may be incomplete or outdated.
• Weather: Weather information is provided by the OpenWeather API and is subject to change and uncertainty.
• AI Limitations: AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete. Validate important results with authoritative sources.

8) Third-Party Services

We integrate third-party services, including Mapbox (tiles), Leaflet (map library), OpenWeather (weather), OpenAI (AI generation), NewsData (optional news), and Stripe (payments). Your use of features that rely on those services may be subject to their terms and policies.

9) Payments, Subscriptions & Renewals

• Premium features are billed via Stripe or the respective app store (Apple/Google) depending on platform.
• Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled. Taxes (e.g., VAT) may apply.
• If you subscribe through an app store, that store’s terms control billing, refunds, and cancellations.

10) Cancellations & Refunds

• You can cancel at any time; access remains through the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: subject to applicable law and the channel of purchase (Stripe vs. app stores). Contact support for help.
• We may suspend/terminate for misuse, fraud, or policy violations.

11) Beta & Experimental Features

Some features may be released as beta/preview. They are provided “as is,” may be unstable, and may be modified or discontinued without notice.

12) Service Changes & Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Services. We strive for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

13) Data Protection & Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and process personal data, including location, map, and weather requests. By using the Services, you consent to those practices.

14) Export Controls & Sanctions

You represent that you are not subject to sanctions and will not use the Services in violation of applicable export control or sanctions laws.

15) Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold Geolapis LTD harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content or misuse of the Services.

16) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Geolapis LTD will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of £50 or the amount you paid to us for the Service in the 3 months preceding the claim.

17) Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services.

18) Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our Services or the law. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
